Our vision

Our vision is that every child with Down Syndrome in our community has the opportunity to thrive and reach their potential.

DS Achieve is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation formed by parents of children with Down Syndrome.  By supporting families, and those who work with them, we enable children and young people to fulfil their potential, whatever that may be - and it will be different for everyone.

Potential may be centred on education, social inclusion, sporting achievement, personal happiness, good health and wellbeing, or other personal family goals.  All families' goals are different and our aim is to support those goals in whatever way we can, while having fun and making new friends along the way!

We are currently focusing on families in and around Hertfordshire.

Our values

Professional: We adapt to changing needs and keep knowledge and expertise up to date.

Dynamic: We are ambitious and forward-thinking.

Inclusive: We collaborate to create a supportive community.

Our services

We provide educational and training programmes for families, children and professionals.

We provide an early years intervention programme called 'Little Achievers', a school-aged social development group called ‘Young Achievers’ and training for parents, carers and professionals on topics like SEN law, supporting children in school, supporting siblings and health.  We also run a closed Facebook group and WhatsApp groups, providing a forum for families to share information and advice.

Our experiences as parents have taught us that the best advisers are often other parents who have experienced similar situations.

For more information on our current services and activities, please see our What we do page.
